As a Maintenance Fitter and Turner in the forest and wood products sector, you could be applying your trade skills and experience to equipment which process one of the world's most environmentally friendly building materials – sustainably sourced timber.

Role

Roles will vary according to the position, however your working day could include:


  • Preventative maintenance

  • Fault finding and repair

  • Testing and diagnosis

  • Using lathes, mills etc.

  • Ordering parts

  • Maintaining a parts inventory

  • Keeping maintenance reports and related documentation

  • Liaising with plant operators and supervisors.

Ideal Attributes

Relevant technical experience, plus good attention to detail, literacy and numeracy, problem solving skills and ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.

A high level of understanding and commitment to occupational health and safety is essential.

Qualifications

Trade qualifications as fitter and turner (recognised by the Australia qualifications framework).

Experience in maintenance roles in processing plants will be an advantage.
